Everything gets a little more serious on Thursday at the Little League World Series, as all games from this point forward are elimination games.
Little League World Series 2014 schedule for Thursday
Elimination games begin in earnest on Thursday

Game one features Mexico taking on Japan, as the Asian powerhouse is coming off a loss to South Korea. The two teams will be playing for the right to play South Korea in the international championship game. Japan and Mexico squared off previously, with Japan scoring a 9-5 victory. Mexico defeated Australia 6-2 to stay in the tournament, and earn a rematch with Japan.
The nightcap will take place between two fan favorites in Philadelphia’s Taney Dragons and Illinois’ Jackie Robinson West. The winner of this match-up will go on to face Las Vegas’ Mountain Ridge in the U.S. championship game. Mo’ne Davis isn’t eligible to pitch in this game, as she tossed 55 pitches in Wednesday’s contest, though if the Dragons advance to Saturday’s match-up, she would be permitted to throw.
