Things have definitely turned upside down in the world of fantasy quarterbacks. Josh McCown turning in a huge performance and leading all players in scoring. Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan finishing near the bottom with single digit performances. It was frustrating for many fantasy owners and cost me a couple of matchups. Another surprise was Andy Dalton having a very good performance against the tough Seattle defense. With all the injuries and turmoil at the position, the rest of the season could be a wild ride.
Fantasy football rankings, Week 6: Quarterbacks
It was a crazy week for starting quarterbacks in Week 5. Week 6 may bring us the return of Andrew Luck and four teams have their bye week. Check out our Week 6 rankings before you set your lineup.
The teams on bye this week are the Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dallas will be making a quarterback change following their bye. They plan on starting Matt Cassel over Brandon Weeden next week. Derek Carr has played quite well to start the season. Nick Foles had a very poor game and will look to reset his season following the bye. Lastly, Jameis Winston is still finding his way. He's posted double digits fantasy points in all his starts but has yet the break the 20 point mark. Maybe the week off will help his focus.
On the injury front, we're looking forward to getting Andrew Luck back this week. We were hoping he could return last week but we found out last Thursday we'd have to wait. The Colts are playing it close to the vest with his status this week. Facing the Patriots, Indy will need their starter to have any chance of pulling the upset. The Buffalo Bills look like they'll be without their quarterback this week. Tyrod Taylor sprained his MCL against the Titans and he might miss a game or two after this week. EJ Manuel would start against the Bengals in Week 6.
Teddy Bridgewater is my sleeper this week. He's been near the bottom in fantasy points for signal callers this season. I expect that to change against a poor Kansas City defense. Minnesota has been extremely focused on AP and I can understand that. I do hope they look to pass more this week and take advantage of Mike Wallace and Kyle Rudolph.
