His injury might have limited him and kept him out of action for a short while, but upon returning, the young tight end picked up right where he left off. Having at least four receptions and five targets in every game completed this season, it's no surprise that his three touchdowns are tied for both the team lead and fourth in the league among everyone else at his position. And no, I'm not referring to Jordan Reed who, along with Charles Clay, leaves a void in most rosters as each hit their bye week. I'm talking about Eric Ebron, who remains only 25 percent owned in standard leagues.
Fantasy football rankings, Week 8: Tight ends
The SB Nation fantasy staff rounds up the rankings for the top 25 tight ends.
After being shut down against a stingy Denver Broncos defense and again failing to find his footing the following week in Seattle, Ebron sat out the next two games with an apparent knee injury. Though that caused his value to drop, he returned against the Minnesota Vikings this past week and scored yet another touchdown. As long as he stays healthy, Ebron could easily be slotted as an every-week starter.
With Antonio Gates reportedly scheduled to miss a handful of games rather than the initially planned one, Ladarius Green also becomes must-start material. With Gates in the lineup during the last two weeks, Green returned to normalcy averaging four receptions for 45 yards. In each of the games Green has played with Gates out, however, he's averaged 55 yards and scored in all but one of those performances. Consistently performing in Gates absence, Green isn't the worst alternative for those missing out on Ebron.
