It appeared Notre Dame had missed its chance late in the fourth quarter against Clemson. Trailing 24-16, the Fighting Irish needed to go on a 32-yard drive to try and tie the game and do it without a time out. To make matters worse, the drive started with a DeShone Kizer fumble that cost Notre Dame six yards and sent the clock ticking down.

Then the Fighting Irish got rolling. One big play turned into two, then the Irish found the endzone.
Just a beautiful play design with a slight -- but legal -- rub route to get Torii Hunter Jr. open for the touchdown.
They still needed to convert a two-point conversion to tie the game. After calling a perfect play to find the end zone, Notre Dame went with ... this.
Clemson completely washed that out and Kizer never had a shot. His linemen could have tried to push him in, but it would have been a futile effort with a wall of Clemson defenders denying any forward progress.
