Breeders’ Cup 2015 live stream: How to watch Saturday’s races online
American Pharoah will be in action on Saturday in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
American Pharoah has nothing left to prove in the racing world, as the horse has already taken home the Triple Crown of American thoroughbred horse racing. But on Saturday he’ll give it one more go in his final professional race in the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
The $5 million purse race will cap off a day full of races, and it shouldn’t surprise anybody that he opened as the favorite and has remained the favorite in the race. It will be disappointing to see him race without going up against Beholder, though, as Beholder is unarguably the top female horse of the racing world. Beholder was scratched from the race on Thursday.
Friday featured an undercard of four races, with the BC Juvenile Turf, the BC Dirt Mile and the BC Juvenile Fillies, capped off by the BC Distaff for fillies and mares. Saturday’s slate features a total of nine races getting underway at 12 p.m. ET with the 14 Hands Winery Juvenile Fillies on dirt.
That race carries a purse of $2 million, with the other races coming in at $1 million or more and reaching $5 million for the Classic. The Longines Turf, which precedes the Classic, has a purse of $3 million. The Classic is set for 5:35 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBC. The opening races will be broadcast on NBCSN, beginning at 1 p.m., with NBC picking up coverage at 4 p.m.
