New York City Marathon 2015 live stream: How to watch the race online

Wilson Kipsang is the man to watch as he goes for his second consecutive New York City Marathon victory on Sunday.

The 45th running of the New York City Marathon will take place on Sunday and it promises to be an exciting race. Wilson Kipsang is the big name to watch as the favorite and defending champion in the prestigious event.

Kipsang is 33 years old and perhaps not the best marathon runner in the world, but the man is still running incredibly well and he will be the one to watch on Sunday. The Kenyan is healthy, despite some health issues earlier in the year, and recently put up a seventh-place finish at the Dam tot Damloop race in the Netherlands.

He is looking to become the first man to win the New York City Marathon in back-to-back years since John Kagwe did it in 1997 and 1998.

There will be plenty of competition for him. Kipsang is looking to rebound from a marathon loss to fellow Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge, the popular pick for top marathoner currently. But he’ll have to get past Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia. Desisa finished in second place in the New York City Marathon last year, after falling back in the final mile. Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor and American Meb Keflezighi are also participants to watch on the men’s side.

Television coverage of the race will be carried on ESPN2, beginning at 9 a.m. ET. Local fans can watch the race online at WatchABC, and everyone else will have online coverage available at WatchESPN, also beginning at 9 a.m.
