NHL Monday: Ducks spoil Hanafin’s first career goal with 4-1 victory

While each side got a point for going to OT, Vancouver had their chances to put their foot down on the Canadiens and are certainly remiss about allowing the Canadiens back into the game to snag the second.

Boedker turns on the jets at the right time as he hits the neutral zone, building up enough speed to glide around the remaining Islanders defenders before pulling a move to the backhand and depositing the goal on the forehand.

As you can see, the slap shot, however, is not enough on its own. It deflects off the top of goaltender Mike Condon’s pads at such an angle that it gets stuck between the top netting and the inside bar that runs across the net.

The video really does it more justice, as the puck just stops inside the net after crossing the red line, confusing the hell out of the players on the ice and the announcers until it gets popped out with some forceful banging.
