The last of the bye weeks is finally here. The teams on bye are the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers. Drew Brees posted two excellent point totals in Weeks 9 and 10, before his stinker against Washington. His schedule isn't overly rough down the stretch but it sure would be nice to see consistent 20-point games out of him. Eli Manning is on pace for a career high in touchdown passes and has also been inconsistent. His schedule has some tough defenses in half of his remaining games and should only be trusted on a game-to-game basis.
Fantasy football rankings 2015: Quarterbacks
Here are our consensus Week 11 QB rankings.
Ben Roethlisberger has played very well in the game's he's been healthy. It's been too bad that he has missed four full games and wasn't started by most last week because of injury. Big Ben came off the bench and posted a 27-point game. He faces a couple good defenses in the next six games and needs to be started unless injured. The Browns will turn to Johnny Manziel on a permanent basis following their bye. Manziel has upside but still hasn't posted a truly breakout performance. Time is running out for the former college star.
On the injury front, Brian Hoyer is in the league's concussion protocol and is questionable to play this week. T.J. Yates would probably get the start against the Jets, if Hoyer can't go. Yates should be avoided. Sam Bradford is likely to miss a couple weeks with his shoulder/concussion issues. Mark Sanchez will start for the Eagles. This could be his chance to steal the starting job away from Bradford. The Eagles have two sweet matchups against Tampa and Detroit the next couple weeks.
The big news was Peyton Manning and his disaster on Sunday. Manning will miss this week's game because of his plantar fascia and could be out a lot longer. Brock Osweiler will start against the Bears. It will be interesting to see if he's the future in Denver and this will be his first opportunity to prove it.
On smaller notes, Tony Romo is finally expected to return. He'll provide a boost to their whole offense but might need time to shake the rust. Ryan Fitzpatrick had thumb surgery and could still be able to start this week. Keep an eye on whether they practice. Lastly, the Rams benched Nick Foles and will start Case Keenum at quarterback. They'll look to him for a boost to the passing game. I have only doubts about this change.
My sleeper this week is Marcus Mariota. He's coming off his worst performance of the season but was facing a very tough defense. His opponent this week is very soft in the Jaguars, which should result in a strong performance. Surprisingly, three of his four best performances have come on the road and that's where he's playing again this week. I'm personally starting him in the leagues where I have him this week.
