Fantasy owners won last week if they escaped Week 8's massacre without seeing any of their players injured, regardless of what it reads in the box scores. As a result, the fantasy landscape has shifted, leaving star receivers like Keenan Allen and Steve Smith on injured reserve.
Fantasy football rankings, Week 9: Consensus wide receivers for standard leagues
The SB Nation fantasy staff rounds up the rankings for the top 50 wide receivers in standard leagues.
But with injury comes opportunity for players who had previously been buried on the depth chart, as Malcom Floyd and Stevie Johnson will soak up vacated targets Allen leaves behind. Also stepping up in recent weeks were Robert Woods and Chris Hogan, as Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin were left sidelined.
For Week 9, Eric Decker could be one of the many "next men up" with Brandon Marshall's status unclear, which could potentially put him in WR1 territory against an exploitable Jaguars secondary. But the fact of the matter is, fantasy owners are going to need to get creative with so many injuries and six teams on bye.
