DeMarcus Ware expected to miss 2-4 weeks with back injury suffered vs. Colts

DeMarcus Ware struggled with back spasms earlier this season.

DeMarcus Ware suffered a back injury during Denver Broncos' loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the pass rusher will miss 2-4 weeks after a lingering issue flared up.

Ware has struggled with his back this season. He also left the Oct. 11 bout against the Oakland Raiders with back spasms, which forced him to missed the following week's game against the Cleveland Browns.

Ware leads the Broncos with 5.5 sacks this season as part of the league’s best pass rushing teams. The Broncos led the league with 29 sacks heading into Week 9.

The Broncos fell to the Colts, 27-24, for their first loss of the season. Coming off a bad game against the Carolina Panthers, Andrew Luck bounced back with a solid outing against a defense that shut down Aaron Rodgers and company last week.

Losing Ware for any extended period of time would be a significant loss for Denver. Given the recurring nature of the injury, however, it may have to plan how it will go forward without the veteran.
