Sunday started out really rough for a lot of fantasy owners. Before the day really even got off the ground, Seattle Seahawks running Thomas Rawls, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton and Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert all went down in the first half and did not return.
Fantasy football waiver wire: Injuries heading into Week 15
Thomas Rawls going down was a really tough blow to fantasy owners. Here are the injuries from Week 14.
Besides those three, it was a pretty minor day with injuries. Before the week started, New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram was ruled out for the season, so that led to Tim Hightower getting 28 carries. He's the main pickup from the injuries this week, and here are the rest.
Injuries from Week 14
Quarterback
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals
What: Broken thumb
Analysis: It’ll likely be A.J. McCarron the rest of the way, but he isn’t a strong pickup.
What: Concussion
Analysis: T.J. Yates would start against the Colts, but is not worth using in fantasy.
Running back
Thomas Rawls, Seattle Seahawks
What: Broken ankle
Analysis: Fred Jackson and DuJuan Harris will likely split the carries, but Harris is the best add.
T.J. Yeldon, Jacksonville Jaguars
What: Sprained knee
Analysis: Denard Robinson should be added in most leagues
Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints
What: Out for season
Analysis: Tim Hightower was busy and played 58 snaps, so he should be owned everywhere.
C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos
What: Ankle sprain, did not play in Week 14
Analysis: Ronnie Hillman saw most of the work last week, but CJA should be back.
LeGarrette Blount, New England Patriots
What: Hip injury
Analysis: Doesn’t sound serious, but James White and Brandon Bolden would split carries if he’s out.
Todd Gurley, St. Louis Rams
What: Minor knee injury
Analysis: He should be OK for Thursday.
Wide receiver
DeSean Jackson
What: Knee injury
Analysis: May be out in Week 15, which may help Pierre Garcon and Jamison Crowder.
Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What: Minor knee injury
Analysis: He should be fine for Week 15.
Brian Hartline, Cleveland Browns
What: Broken collarbone
Analysis: He’s out for the year, but nobody is really worth an add.
Tight end
What: Knee injury, likely out for year
Analysis: Eric Ebron could have more value.
Tyler Eifert, Cincinnati Bengals
What: Concussion
Analysis: He might have a chance to return for Week 15.
Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills
What: Back injury, Bills won’t announce status yet.
Analysis: He could miss Week 15.
* * *
Injuries before Week 14
Quarterback
What: Luck has a kidney issue, likely out this week
Analysis: Matt Hasselbeck was pretty bad in Week 14 with 252 yards and no scores; he was also hurt.
What: Foot injury, out Week 15
Analysis: Brock Osweiler will likely start for the rest of the season.
Running back
What: Johnson has a broken leg and is out for the year; Ellington has turf toe and should be back
Analysis: David Johnson was also hurt, but he should be OK.
Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks
What: Abdomen injury, seeing a specialist
Analysis: He is likely out for the regular season.
What: Shoulder injury
Analysis: He could be back for Week 15.
What: Foot fracture
Analysis: Could miss more time; Shaun Draughn was a letdown on Sunday with 51 total yards.
Wide receiver
What: Foot surgery
Analysis: Could be back this week, which limits Danny Amendola.
What: Rib injury
Analysis: He is probably out for the year and Dorial Green-Beckham should be better than last week.
Tight end
Jermaine Gresham, Arizona Cardinals
What: Knee injury
Analysis: Hopefully it’s not serious, but Gresham doesn’t have much value anyway.
What: Neck strain
Analysis: He’s out for the year, so Will Ty is the main tight end and has some value.
What: Concussion
Analysis: Jared Cook has some added value, but he only caught three of his nine targets.
What: Back injury
Analysis: Maxx Williams was basically a ghost in Week 14.
