Who would have thought that Kirk Cousins could win you a fantasy championship? I now consider myself a believer. He's thrown a touchdown in every single game this season. He's thrown for three-plus touchdowns in three different games. He's thrown for 300-plus yards in six games and has six 20-plus fantasy-point games. I recognize he's had some dumpster fire games, but overall he's been pretty reliable. I don't have him in any of the finals that I'm playing in, but if I did I'd be confident. His Washington team is facing the Eagles and their porous pass defense. I'm not sure he'll pass for four touchdowns again, like last week, but I'm sure he'll get close to 300 yards passing. I'd make sure to keep an eye on him for your 2016 draft, especially if you like to wait for your quarterback.
Fantasy football rankings 2015: Quarterbacks, Week 16
The season is nearing its end, but we have you covered. Check out our Week 16 QB rankings with injury news and a sleeper to watch out for.
If you drafted Andrew Luck as one of your quarterbacks, like I did, then you're surely disappointed to say the least. He's not going to play this week, so Matt Hasselbeck will get his eighth start of the season. The team hasn't put Luck on IR, so they must be hopeful of him returning for Week 17 or possibly the playoffs. Hasselbeck is dealing with multiple ailments, including injuries to his ribs, neck and arm. He'll face the Dolphins but it would be wise to avoid him if possible. Drew Brees is dealing with a torn plantar fascia suffered on Monday night. He's considered day to day and is hoping to play out the season. If he can't face the Jaguars this week, Matt Flynn would get the start. We hope it doesn't come to that and that Brees will start for you in a sweet matchup. Brian Hoyer is still in the concussion protocol and hasn't yet been cleared to return. T.J. Yates was placed on IR on Monday. If Hoyer can't start, Brandon Weeden would face the Tennessee Titans.
Peyton Manning may return this week but it could be as Brock Osweiler's backup. It all depends on how he does in practice and if he experiences any setbacks. He may be active for Monday night, even if he's not 100 percent. It looks like Marcus Mariota is done for the season with a sprained MCL. Mariota had some really good games and should improve even more next season. Zach Mettenberger will take over as starter for the Titans this week. Lastly, Kellen Moore will be the starter for Dallas this week. Moore was picked three times by the Jets but showed some real moxie. I'm glad they're giving him a chance over Matt Cassel.
My prediction last week about Ryan Fitzpatrick was partly true. He did pass for more than 240 yards but he didn't get a second passing touchdown. This week for a sleeper, I'd start the aforementioned Kirk Cousins. He hasn't had much success on the road but he's facing a pass defense that's surrendered 30 touchdown passes. Another big help has been the return of DeSean Jackson. I was thinking about Teddy Bridgewater here, but I think last week's game was a fluke and the Vikings will return to their strong ground game.
