With the fantasy playoffs beginning, it's time for Aaron Rodgers to step up. Without that Hail Mary to end the game last week, his numbers would have been disappointing once again. It's not like he's been facing the top defenses in the league week after week. His struggles have been happening at home and on the road. It's been really hard to pinpoint exactly why this season has been a down year. Jordy Nelson out of the lineup hasn't helped. Eddie Lacy struggling to put together a complete game has hurt the offense. But you can't bench Rodgers because you never know if he'll go off for a 30 or 40 point game. You also probably invested a second- or third-round pick to take him. Maybe he'll turn it around against the Dallas Cowboys this week.
Fantasy football rankings 2015: Quarterbacks, Week 14
Your fantasy playoffs are starting and we have you covered with our Week 14 QB rankings. We also take a look at Aaron Rodgers week to week struggles and some injury news.
Johnny Manziel will get to start again for Cleveland this week. I think he'll have a good game but shouldn't be started unless you're desperate or in a 2QB league. He hasn't put up a big game yet this season and has yet to pass for 300 yards and two touchdowns in the same game. The only positive would be if the Browns fall behind, Manziel will put up some garbage time fantasy points.
On the injury front, Matt Schaub has passed the concussion tests and should be the starter for the Baltimore Ravens against the Seattle Seahawks. It's going to be a long day for Schaub or maybe a short day if he gets pulled early. Matt Hasselbeck is expected to be the quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts against Jacksonville. The neck and rib injuries shouldn't prevent him from taking the field. Hasselbeck was humbled by the Pittsburgh Steelers but he will probably bounce back with a strong performance in Week 14. Eli Manning won't miss his start this week despite tweaking his ankle against the New York Jets. Although, keep an eye on his practice participation.
My sleeper last week did not pan out at all. Jay Cutler was a dumpster fire with no passing touchdowns and barely 200 yards passing. I have to go with Jameis Winston this week. He's facing what has to be the surest thing in the Saints defense. Over their last five games, the Saints have allowed an average of four passing touchdowns per game. Winston didn't fare well the last time he faced the Saints but he's come a long way since then. I'm thinking he passed for his first 300 yard game with two passing touchdowns. Also 40 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown. He's your best choice if you're looking for a secret weapon in your playoff matchup.
