We're still not exactly sure what Chip Kelly's end game is, but the madness doesn't appear to be letting up. Offensive guard Evan Mathis is the latest Philadelphia Eagles player being offered up on the trading block, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Mathis is regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, making the Pro Bowl in 2013 and 2014.
Eagles trying to trade guard Evan Mathis, according to report
The Dolphins, Bills, Vikings and Rams have been rumored as potential trade partners for Mathis. It’s still unclear what the Eagles want in exchange, though.

The Eagles have been one of the most active teams this offseason. They have already pulled off perhaps the two biggest trades of the year, swapping LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso with the Bills, and Nick Foles for Sam Bradford with the Rams. It's not clear exactly what they would be looking for in exchange for Mathis. The team has already addressed running back (signing DeMarco Murray) and cornerback (Byron Maxwell, Walter Thurmond) this offseason.
Philadelphia still has a need at wide receiver after letting Jeremy Maclin sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. It may also try to stock up on draft picks, or make a move up the draft board to snag quarterback Marcus Mariota. Rumored trade partners include the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Rams, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, all of who are picking No. 10 or worse in the draft order.
The Eagles would save a fair bit of cap space by getting rid of Mathis -- $6.5 million in 2015 and $7 million in 2016. They would also be losing the highest rated offensive guard since 2011, according to Pro Football Focus.
Kelly and the Eagles are having the most fascinating offseason of any team in the NFL. We can only guess at the outcome, so in the meantime let’s all gawk at the process.
