High pressure that has been in control across the area will continue to slide east out over the Atlantic. This will allow for more moisture over Baltimore, with warm temperatures increasing the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms for the afternoon.
Preakness Stakes 2015 race day weather forecast
There’s a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon before the running of the 140th Preakness Stake.
SATURDAY -- PREAKNESS STAKES WEATHER FORECAST:
The weather for Saturday looks mostly dry. Temperatures will be warming into the 80s for the afternoon. Skies will range from partly to mostly cloudy throughout the day.
Winds will not be an issue as they will be out of the southwest and be between 10 to 15 mph.
The only problem we could see is an isolated storm or two forming in the afternoon leading up to the 6 p.m. Preakness Stake. While a chance of a storm is possible the overall odds of seeing one are low.
Just need to keep an eye to the sky and radar in case a shower or storm forms by the time the race starts.
