Abby Wambach’s emotional video about her career is a must-watch

James Dator
James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.

It’s unclear how much longer Abby Wambach will be playing professional soccer, but it’s safe to say this is her final chance to hold the women’s World Cup. Ahead of the final on Sunday she spoke clearly and candidly about what the journey and her career has meant.

Wambach asked the room to clear so she could be alone with her thoughts, and things got emotional just as she predicted. Thank you Abby for everything you have done and for being a role model to young athletes everywhere.
