With Mayweather almost certainly up 3-0 through the first three rounds, Andre Berto is digging himself a hole, and he pretty badly needs this round. You can’t give away a third of a fight and beat Floyd Mayweather.

Floyd Mayweather stung Andre Berto a little this round, and kept on rolling.


Mayweather smiling as he backs himself to the ropes and tries to bait Berto into throwing. Mayweather lands a couple, Berto gets a jab in and Floyd ties him up. Berto shoots a right, Mayweather ducks and rolls away from it, maybe caught a bit on the side of the body. Mayweather back to the middle of the ring and moving. Lead left hook again from Mayweather, a little wide and partially blocked. Berto pushes Floyd back to the ropes, Floyd ties him up again.
Lead right hand appears to sting Berto, but Andre ties up and holds steady. Andre with a long right, barely misses. Mayweather ties him up again against the ropes. Berto doing as much holding as Mayweather, really, which is no good for the viewing audience. Really an unremarkable fight so far -- Berto just can’t test Mayweather. He’s not good enough.
