Andre Berto coming out in a stalking mode this round, but Mayweather picking him off when he wants to, too. As I’ve said repeatedly, the issue here is that Andre Berto is not good enough to beat Floyd Mayweather. He doesn’t have the things that might possibly trouble Floyd, and he’s past his prime, as well. This is just no competition for Floyd.
Mayweather vs. Berto 2015 live results: Floyd still pitching shutout after 8 rounds
Floyd Mayweather is in total control of Andre Berto through the first two-thirds of the fight.

Berto seemingly has lost whatever confidence he might have had coming in. Berto can’t cut off the ring, can’t lead the offense, can’t counter effectively. He can’t work from range or inside. Mayweather with a 1-2 as he keeps just doing what he wants, when he wants. This is one-sided but not in a highlight reel manner. There’s a lot of nuance and craft in what Mayweather’s doing, but it is less impressive when he is this level of favorite, when the opponent is this clearly overmatched.
SB Nation scorecard: Mayweather 10-9, 80-72
