The third day of the 2016 Winter X Games from Aspen was highlighted by Canadian snowboarder Mark McMorris capturing his sixth career gold medal.

McMorris has won four of his six gold medals in Snowboard Slopestyle.


McMorris won the Men’s Snowboard Slopestyle Event in Aspen Saturday with a score on his second run of 92.66 that held up for the gold medal. It was the sixth career X Games medal for McMorris and his fourth in this event, along with 2012, 2013 and 2015.
Sebastien Toutant captured silver with a score of 90.00 on his first run, and Mons Roisland had a score of 86.33 in his third and final run that was good enough to win the bronze medal.

In the Mono Skier X final, French skier Jerome Elbrycht made the most of his first competition in the United States, taking home the gold medal with a time of 1:12.207. The final heat was ridiculously close, with four skiers within three-quarters of a second of one another.
Nikki Landeros won the silver medal with a time of 1:12.545, and Kevin Bramble won bronze with a 1:12.903 time.
Poor Josh Elliott put up an excellent time of 1:12.963, but he has no medal to show for it, finishing fourth.
