Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 7: Knile Davis
Will the Packers unleash Knile Davis in the same week they traded for the former Chiefs RB?

Editor’s update: The Packers have placed Eddie Lacy on injured reserve. Ty Montgomery is expected to get the majority of running back touches on TNF, but Davis holds long-term value.
The Green Bay Packers’ backfield will be one of the biggest stories to watch in Week 7. It will be answered quickly when they host the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football.
With the loss of Eddie Lacy (ankle) for several weeks, newly acquired Knile Davis looks like the top running back on the Packers’ roster. Don Jackson was called up from the practice squad, and wide receiver Ty Montgomery will get running back snaps as well.
Still, Green Bay’s best bet here may be to give Davis the majority of carries vs. Chicago. Davis was acquired from the Kansas Chiefs on Tuesday after falling out of favor behind Spencer Ware, Charcandrick West, and Jamaal Charles.
In his first two years in the NFL, Davis racked up 705 yards and 10 scores on 204 carries (3.5 avg) while catching 27 passes for 222 yards and another score. Most of that came as a backup behind Charles. Davis saw less action last year, though, and only made 28 rushing attempts.
Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Davis as the 41st-best running back in Week 7. He faces a Bears defense allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy point to running backs over the past three weeks.
Davis is an intriguing fantasy player going forward, but on a short week with a new team, keep him on the bench in any league this week.
