Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 8: Marcus Mariota a tricky call vs. Jaguars

The Tennessee Titans’ offense has caught fire in recent weeks thanks to the improved play of Marcus Mariota.

The second-year quarterback endured a slow start to this season that had many fantasy owners cutting ties with him. He threw just four touchdowns vs. five interceptions over the first four games, but has tossed eight scores vs. one interception over his last three games.

Mariota also chipped in 138 rushing yards and one score over the past three weeks after gaining just 72 yards and no scores over his first four games. He should keep up his recent hot streak vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 8.

Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Mariota as the 13th-best quarterback for Week 8. He faces a Jaguars defense allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks over the last three games.

Mariota is a tricky call because he is likely the backup quarterback on your roster. If your normal starter is playing, you should probably stick with him.

But if your regular starter is injured or on a bye, do not hesitate to put Mariota in your starting lineup.
