The Arizona Cardinals have ruled out Darren Fells vs. the San Francisco 49ers. That means Jermaine Gresham will be the team’s starting tight end this week, which could make him an interesting fantasy play.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Jermaine Gresham an intriguing play vs. 49ers
Whoever Arizona starts at tight end could be a good play vs. the 49ers. Is that Jermaine Gresham?

Gresham has been quiet this season after catching four passes for 41 yards in Week 1. He has since failed to catch a pass in three straight games, but that was with Fells as the starter.
Will Fells out, Gresham could be someone used a lot Thursday night when Drew Stanton replaces Carson Palmer (concussion) at quarterback. Stanton is more prone to settle for dump-offs and check-downs to running backs and tight ends, so it is possible Gresham comes off the bench to have a good game this week.
Fantasy Impact: The 49ers have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends over the past three weeks. They are also without All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman (Achilles) now, so they should be even worse at stopping tight ends going forward.
That makes whoever Arizona starts at tight end an intriguing fantasy play. However, Gresham has done nothing in the past two seasons to warrant starting him in any scenario. Keep him benched or even on the waiver wire this week.
