In his ninth NFL season, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is well on his way to a career year. Through four games, Ryan currently leads the league in completion percentage, passing yards, and passing touchdowns.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Should Matt Ryan be benched?
The Falcons’ quarterback is on fire in 2016 so far, but he could hit a wall known as the Broncos defense this weekend. We explore the fantasy implications.

He is on pace to throw for more than 5,500 yards and 40 touchdowns. Both of those would easily be career single-season highs for Ryan.
Fantasy Impact: It seems like a no-brainer for fantasy owners to start the Atlanta quarterback in their lineups this week, but there is a decent chance that his current play could be cooled down when he and the Falcons face the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The Broncos have one of the best, if not the best, defenses in the entire league this year. No opposing quarterback has thrown for more than 206 yards against Denver this season and their defense has not given up a passing touchdown in the past two games.
Yahoo! ranks Ryan as their 15th best fantasy quarterback for Week 5 based on their projections. They still think he will have a decent day against the Broncos, finishing with 262 yards passing, two touchdowns, and one interception.
If he were facing any other team this week, Ryan would likely be a guaranteed starter for most fantasy owners. But Denver and their defense present a battle for every team and player that faces them this year and Ryan could be their next victim.
