With Sims and Doug Martin both out this week for the Bucs, Jacquizz Rodgers will likely enter Monday’s game as the team’s starting running back. Rodgers only has 15 total touches in three games this season for Tampa Bay, and he has not started a game since 2014 when he was with the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Impact: In what could be his first start in two years, Rodgers will be facing a Panthers defense that has not allowed an opposing running back to rush for more than 60 yards in their last three games.
It is definitely not a favorable matchup for the Tampa Bay running back. With his lack of playing time in 2016, it is hard to forecast how his night will turn out against Carolina. Yahoo! is only projecting Rodgers to get seven touches for 31 total yards on Monday, but with Sims out those numbers should at least end up being a little higher.
Even though he may get the start against the Panthers, fantasy owners should probably keep away from starting Rodgers in their lineups this week unless they are in some sort of desperation situation.
