Well, for this Sunday against the Chicago Bears, the Bucs could have running back Doug Martin back in the lineup for the first time in six games. Martin injured his hamstring during Tampa Bay’s Week 2 game versus the Arizona Cardinals and has not been on the field since.
Fantasy Impact: Even if the Bucs are able to get their star running back in the lineup this weekend against the Bears, fantasy owners may want to hold off on starting Martin for at least another week.
Chicago’s defense has been quite impressive against opposing running backs this season. The Bears are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points per game to the position group. No running back has gained more than 80 total yards against Chicago’s defense in the team’s last four games.
Yahoo! projects Martin to finish Sunday with 58 total yards on 13 touches if he is able to get on the field, but fantasy owners should be keeping the running back on their bench this week, whether he plays or not.
