The 11th week of the 2016 regular season is just about coming to a close with only the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.
We will be ranking the top five players likely to be available in your league at each of the major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change (via Yahoo!) and news arrives.
Waiver wire wide receiver rankings, Week 12
1. Eli Rogers, Pittsburgh Steelers (23 percent owned)
The winds in Cleveland were blowing at speeds over 40 miles per hour, and the Steelers led the entire game which led to a poor game script for Pittsburgh’s receivers. Rogers was only able to muster four catches for 20 yards on six targets in Week 11. Rogers should produce much better numbers next week as he possesses a good match up against Indianapolis.
2. Ted Ginn Jr., Carolina Panthers (20 percent owned)
Despite his age, Ginn has continued to be a vertical threat for Carolina’s passing attack throughout the year. The Panthers receiver caught three passes for a touchdown, and added 13 yards on the ground (going down at the one yard line) in Carolina’s win against New Orleans on Thursday night. Ginn has a favorable match up next week against the Raiders, where he should have more opportunities to make a big play.
3. Tajae Sharpe, Tennessee Titans (12 percent owned)
Sharpe received a good deal of hype in the preseason due to his apparent chemistry with quarterback, Marcus Mariota. However, the Titan’s offense struggled mightily early in the season which severely impacted Sharpe’s value. Now that the offense is clicking, Sharpe has risen to a usable fantasy asset, securing four catches for 68 yards and a score in the Titans loss to the Colts. Sharpe should continue to be productive against the Bears in Week 12.
4. Marqise Lee, Jacksonville Jaguars (six percent owned)
Allen Hurns has been a non-factor in the past three weeks of play, only securing three passes in that span. In contrast, Lee has secured four passes in each of those three games, including a four-catch, 52-yard and one-score performance in the Jaguars loss to the Giants in Week 11. The Jacksonville offense hasn’t been very effective this season, however Lee should continue to be a consistent producer despite the offense’s struggles.
5. Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals (four percent owned)
The rookie wide receiver is the largest benefactor to A.J. Green’s unfortunate injury that occurred in the Bengals loss to the Bills. The Cincinnati receiver caught six passes for 54 yards and a touchdown in Week 11. Initial reports appear pessimistic regarding Green’s condition, and as a result Boyd should receive a significant increase in targets and fantasy production in coming weeks.
