Fantasy Impact: On Sunday, the Chargers’ tight end will be matching up against a Houston Texans defense that has performed well against his position group this season.
The Texans are giving up the fourth fewest fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in 2016. No player from the position group has gained over 80 receiving yards during a game this season against Houston’s defense.
Yahoo! is actually projecting Gates to finish his day on Sunday with four catches for 44 yards and one touchdown. He could still end up being a solid option for fantasy owners this week, but starting a tight end with a better matchup may actually be a better idea.
