In the past week, the Kansas City Chiefs have lost two of their best running backs to injuries. The team placed Jamaal Charles on injured reserve last Tuesday and on Friday the Chiefs ruled Spencer Ware out for the team’s Week 9 game with a concussion.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Charcandrick West gets shot to shine on Sunday
The Chiefs’ backup is expected to start this weekend against the Jaguars. We explore the fantasy implications.

But as is the case with any other NFL team experiencing an abundance of player injuries, Kansas City will be looking to backup running backs, specifically Charcandrick West, to fill the voids left by Ware and Charles.
Fantasy Impact: With the Chiefs having to be without their top two running backs this week, West will likely be the back with the most opportunities on Sunday when the team takes on the Jacksonville Jaguars. West has played decent this year in a limited role but he did perform well last season when the team needed him to take over as their starter.
The Jaguars defense has not been horrible against the run in 2016, but they have not been amazing, either. Jacksonville has allowed two running backs to rush for 100 yards or more this season and have given up four touchdowns to the position group in their last two games.
For Sunday, Yahoo! projects West to finish with 72 total yards and one touchdown on 16 touches. He is a solid flex option for fantasy owners this weekend, at the least.
