Having still not been the recipient of any touchdown passes in 2016, Denver Broncos tight end Virgil Green is not having the season that he may have been hoping for. Despite the lack of touchdowns this year, Green has already eclipsed his career high for receptions in a single season and will likely surpass his career high for receiving yards at some point this year, as well.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Virgil Green could provide a spark
Denver’s tight end has struggled recently, but gets a good matchup against the Raiders this week. We explore the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: For Week 9, the Broncos and their tight end will be facing off against the division rival Oakland Raiders. The Raiders are coming into Sunday’s game with a 6-2 record, but their success this season is most certainly not because of their defense.
Due to Oakland’s inability to make an impact on defense this year, Green may be able to take advantage of his matchup on Sunday. The Raiders are giving up the seventh most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in 2016 and the position group has caught four touchdowns in Oakland’s last four games.
For fantasy owners in search of some tight end help this weekend, Green seems like a legitimate option given his matchup.
