When a team finishes a game with their quarterback leading the team in rushing, it usually says a lot about the state of that team’s offensive backfield. Well, this was the case for the Green Bay Packers last week against the Atlanta Falcons when quarterback Aaron Rodgers lead all Packers players with 60 rushing yards.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 9: Ty Montgomery excelling in new role
The Packers’ wide receiver is expected to get a majority of the team’s carries in the backfield once again this week. We explore the fantasy implications.

Injuries have almost completely wiped away Green Bay’s running back depth this year, but the team should get some help this week when wide receiver Ty Montgomery returns to the lineup. Montgomery missed the game versus Atlanta, but he was the Packers’ primary ball carrier during the team’s Week 7 matchup with the Chicago Bears.
Fantasy Impact: After finishing with 19 touches against the Bears two weeks ago, much of the same should be expected for Montgomery when Green Bay takes on the Indianapolis Colts this Sunday.
To help the Packers’ receiver even more, the Colts are giving up the fifth most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2016. Indianapolis has allowed an opposing rusher to gain at least 100 yards on the ground in three of their last four games.
Yahoo! sees Montgomery ending up with 76 total yards on 12 touches on Sunday. He should be a good option for fantasy owners looking for a spark in their lineups this week.
