Fantasy football waiver wire advice: Quarterback rankings for Week 10

The waiver wire begins late Tuesday, so it is time to figure out your best options. We’ve got rankings for all four major positions: QB | RB | WR | TE | DST

The ninth week of the 2016 regular season is just about coming to a close with only the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.

We will be ranking the top five players likely to be available in your league at each of the four major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change (via Yahoo!) and news arrives.

Waiver wire quarterback rankings, Week 10

1. Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles (38 percent owned)

Wentz has struggled the past three weeks, failing to throw more than one touchdown pass in a game in that period. However, over that same period he played strong defenses , and his opponents had more tape on him than in his first games as a pro. The Eagles quarterback passed for 364 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Eagles loss to the Giants. However, Wentz has a good match up against Atlanta next week, where he should have a bounce back performance for fantasy owners.

2. Ryan Tannehill, Miami Dolphins (36 percent owned)

Miami has been able to lean on the run game recently as Jay Ajayi has been running wild the past three weeks, as a result Tannehill hasn’t produced like fantasy owners would expect. The Miami quarterback passed for 149 yards and one touchdown in the Dolphins win over the Jets. However, Tannehill faces a very porous San Diego secondary in Week 10, setting the stage for a good performance from the Dolphins quarterback.

3. Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens (25 percent owned)

Flacco has been far from elite this season, despite producing more pass attempts than most quarterbacks in the league. The Baltimore quarterback only managed to pass for 241 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Ravens win over Pittsburgh. Baltimore lead for the entire game, leading to an unfriendly game script for Flacco, as he attempted a season-low 30 passes in Week 9. Baltimore faces the hapless Browns in Week 10, which bodes well for Flacco’s production.

4. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers (19 percent owned)

Kaepernick looked to be much improved after the bye, however he still looks shaky compared to the level of play he exhibited getting his team to the Superbowl in 2012. The San Francisco quarterback passed for 398 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 23 yards on the ground, but also turned the ball over twice. Despite his questionable accuracy when passing, Kaepernick continues to be an intriguing fantasy option due to the value generated by his runs. While he didn’t fully display his rushing prowess against the Saints, he’ll have another chance next week in Arizona.

5. Sam Bradford, Minnesota Vikings (15 percent owned)

The Vikings had a good match up in Week 9 against a poor Lions defense, however Bradford was unable to capitalize. The Vikings quarterback threw for 273 yards and a touchdown in Minnesota’s overtime loss to Detroit. Bradford has thrown a touchdown in every game he’s played this season, and has a good floor in terms of fantasy production. He may not produce enough to carry a fantasy team alone, but he would make for a good bye week fill-in next week as Minnesota plays a beatable Washington defense.
