The fumble and recovery let Minnesota take a lead.

Vikings defensive end Brian Robison sacked Prescott on the Dallas 17-yard line, stripping the ball. Defensive end Everson Griffen recovered at the Dallas 19, putting the Vikings in excellent position to take a lead over the Cowboys.
Unfortunately for Minnesota, the offense went three-and-out, and it had to settle for three. Kicker Kai Forbath hit the upright, but it was good, and the Vikings took a 9-7 lead.
