Before the 2016 season, chances are very few people outside of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan base knew who Cameron Brate was. But thanks to an expanded role this year, Brate has found himself becoming an important part of the team’s offense each week.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 14: Cameron Brate in for a big day?
The Buccaneers tight end has been one of the team’s surprise bright spots this season. We explore the fantasy implications.

So far this season, the tight end has 47 catches for 528 yards and six touchdowns. All easily single-season career highs for Brate during his third year in the NFL.
Fantasy Impact: This week, the Bucs and their tight end will be facing off with the division rival New Orleans Saints.
Against opposing tight ends in 2016, the Saints defense has actually fared pretty well. They have only given up the 17th-most fantasy points per game to the position group and no tight end has gained 100 or more receiving yards in a game this season against their defense.
Despite New Orleans’ success against the position group in 2016, Yahoo! still projects Brate to finish Sunday with four catches for 46 yards and one touchdown. He at least seems like a solid option for fantasy owners in search of some tight end help this week.
