By no means is Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford blowing anyone away with his stats this season, but he is one of the main reasons the Lions are currently 9-4 and sitting in first place in the NFC North. In Detroit’s last nine games the team is 8-1 and their quarterback has thrown 15 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 15: Matt Stafford’s finger may not be his only problem
Detroit’s quarterback will be facing a tough Giants defense this weekend. We explore the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: This week, Stafford and the Lions will have to deal with the New York Giants and a defense that has played well against the pass this year.
In 2016, the Giants are giving up the the second fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. New York has allowed the position group to only throw for 13 touchdowns this season, good enough for second best in the NFL.
Combine the matchup with the fact that Stafford will now be dealing with an injured finger on his throwing hand for the rest of the year, the best option for fantasy owners may be to keep the quarterback on the bench this week.
