The San Diego Chargers announced on Friday that the team would be taking the field this week against the Oakland Raiders without running back Melvin Gordon in the lineup. Gordon injured his hip during the Chargers’ loss to the Carolina Panthers last Sunday.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 15: Kenneth Farrow gets his shot to shine
The Chargers’ backup running back is expected to have more opportunities on Sunday due an injury in the team’s backfield. We explore the fantasy implications.

In his place, San Diego will likely be looking to Kenneth Farrow to take over a majority of the snaps left up for grabs in the backfield. Fellow Chargers running back running back Ronnie Hillman is also expected to see some action in the offense this week.
Fantasy Impact: Whomever gets a majority of the time at running back for San Diego on Sunday, he will have the luxury of facing an awful Raiders run defense. Oakland is giving up the sixth most fantasy points per game to opposing backs in 2016 and they have allowed the position group to score a total of six touchdowns in the last four weeks.
Based on his lack of playing time this season, it is hard to judge just how productive Farrow could be on Sunday. But his expected increase in opportunities and his matchup should be enough to garner some consideration as a flex option for fantasy owners this week.
