Coming off a 2015 season in which he finished with the second-most rushing yards in the entire NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were excited for what this year would hold for running back Doug Martin. But like most things, this season has not gone as planned for the team and their running back.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Doug Martin poised for breakout
The Buccaneers’ running back is continuing to pick up steam as each week passes. We explore the fantasy implications.

Martin missed six of the Bucs’ first eight games in 2016 with a nagging hamstring injury and he has only one touchdown this season. However, he has played in the team’s last three games and he seems to be getting closer to playing at a high level once again.
Fantasy Impact: Martin has yet to break the 100-yard rushing mark this year, but he has as good a chance as any this week against the San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers are currently giving up the sixth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2016. They have yet to allow any player from the position group to gain over 100 yards in a game this season, but they have given up five touchdowns to running backs in their last four games.
Yahoo! is projecting Martin to finish with 88 total yards and one touchdown on 19 touches Sunday. He should at least be a legitimate flex option for fantasy owners this week.
