Since having a few impressive outings at the start of the 2016 season, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been relatively quiet over the past few weeks.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Be cautious with Cam Newton
Carolina’s quarterback has a tough matchup against the Seahawks on Sunday. We explore the fantasy implications.

During his last five games, he has only thrown for more than 250 yards once. In addition, he’s only had one game over the past five weeks with more than one touchdown pass.
Fantasy Impact: On Sunday, Newton and the Panthers will be facing the feisty defense of the Seattle Seahawks. Carolina’s quarterback certainly has not played his best in four regular season matchups against the Seahawks during his career.
In three of his four previous games versus Seattle, Newton has finished with under 200 passing yards and he’s never thrown for more than one touchdown in a single regular season game against the Seahawks.
The running ability of the Panthers’ quarterback is what separates him from other signal callers in the fantasy sports world. But in his career versus Seattle, he has only one touchdown run.
Against a Seahawks defense that is giving up the seventh fewest fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks in 2016, it might not be a bad idea for fantasy owners to find a nice seat on their bench for Newton this week.
