He was already having a pretty decent season in 2016 for the New England Patriots, but tight end Martellus Bennett’s workload should see a dramatic increase with fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski expected to miss the remainder of the season with a back injury.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Martellus Bennett is the top dog now
The Patriots’ tight end is the team’s No. 1 option at his position after the season-ending injury to Gronkowski. We explore the fantasy implications.

Bennett is dealing with a few nagging injuries himself, but he is expected to be on the field for the Patriots this weekend.
Fantasy Impact: This Sunday, New England and its tight end will be facing the Los Angeles Rams and their defense, which has only allowed Bennett’s position group to catch just one touchdown in their last eight games.
The Rams’ defense is giving up the sixth fewest fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends in 2016. It’s been 19 weeks since the last time a player from the position group gained at least 100 receiving yards against Los Angeles.
But since Bennett has a quarterback in Tom Brady throwing him passes, the tight end still seems like a good option for fantasy owners almost every week until the end of the season.
