The Denver Broncos beat the Jacksonville Jaguars, 20-10, to improve to 8-4 on the season, but managed to do it with just 206 yards of total offense. The Broncos instead turned to punter Riley Dixon often, and the Jaguars relied heavily on Brad Nortman, leading to 875 combined punting yards.
Jaguars, Broncos combined for 875 punting yards
The Broncos had just 206 yards of offense, 506 yards of punts, and still won comfortably.

It’s the most of the 2016 season and Dixon’s 506 punting yards represent the 44th 500-yard punting performance in NFL history.
These are stats that aren’t exactly encouraging for the Broncos, even if the team is a step closer to a sixth consecutive postseason berth. First-round pick Paxton Lynch was asked to lead the way for the Broncos with Trevor Siemian out due to injury, and Lynch managed just 104 passing yards on 24 attempts.
While it came against the 2-10 Jaguars, the team’s defense has been especially stingy as of late, holding four of its last five opponents under 300 yards of offense. Only three teams have allowed fewer yardage than the Jaguars, and just one has allowed fewer passing yards.
The Broncos defense is plenty stingy, too, though. While it gave up 333 total yards, it allowed just 10 points and forced three turnovers, one of which was an interception by Bradley Roby that was returned for a touchdown.
Ultimately, Denver won the punt fest and fans can at least be grateful it wasn’t nearly as bad as 1998 game between the San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders that had 1,231 yards worth of punts.
