Cavorting made it clear as she came to the outside of the pack and tore away from her competitors that she was not about to let victory escape. The victory at the 2016 Belmont Stakes undercard Ogden Phipps race Saturday was her seventh in her career.

Cavorting added a seventh victory to her career totals as she earned an impressive victory in the Ogden Phipps race.


Cavorting started the race in the middle of the odds pack, standing at 4-1 as she entered the starting gate. Curalina, who was expected to win the Grade 1 race with 9-5 odds, did not even finish in the top three. Second-place finisher Forever Unbridled had 3-1 odds entering the race, and third-place finisher Carrumba held 10-1 odds.
Cavorting is a descendent of A.P. Indy, who comes from the lineage of Secretariat and Seattle Slew. She is the offspring of Bernardini and Promenade Girl. She is owned by Stonestreet Stables LLC and trained by Kiaran P. McLaughlin.
She has seven victories, including Saturday, one second-place finish, one third and one fourth as well as a seventh and a ninth. The victory in the Ogden Phipps race was just her second Grade 1 win.
The race, which was run over 1 1/16 miles on a dirt track, held a purse of $1 million.
