The United States women’s volleyball team faces off with China in pool play on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET.


NBC will televise U.S. vs. China, with Italy vs. Puerto Rico on NBC Universo, and Brazil vs. Russia on NBCSN.
Team USA is the top-ranked team in the Rio Games. The United States’ women swept Puerto Rico in straight sets in their first match of pool play, but faced a tough test against a Netherlands team that took the Americans to five sets. The United States dropped the first and third sets to the Dutch team, winning the second and fourth sets and battling hard to prevail in the fifth set, securing the victory.
The next challenge for Team USA was the Serbian national team, and the United States defeated them 3-1. The United States took the first set, outscoring Serbia 25-17, but dropped the second set, 25-21. Team USA didn’t blink, finishing off Serbia in two straight sets, with scores of 25-18 and 25-19.
China came into the Rio Olympics ranked No. 2, but dropped its first match to a Netherlands team that took them to five sets. They bounced back against Italy, winning 3-0, and then swept Puerto Rico in three straight sets, also.
Rounding out pool play in Group B, Team USA’s group, is Serbia facing off against the Dutch team and Italy taking on Puerto Rico. In Group A, South Korea will take on Cameroon, Japan will face Argentina, and to close out the day, Brazil will face Russia.
