Team USA’s Haley Anderson will try to win gold in the open water 10k after narrowly missing the top prize in the London Olympics.

The women’s open water 10k finals take place at 8 a.m. ET and are part of NBCSN’s morning television coverage. You can stream the entire race, which lasts approximately two hours, via NBC Sports.
Anderson won gold at the Open Water World Championship in 2015 in the open water 5k event. She placed ninth at worlds in the 10k event. Anderson is the lone female American swimmer to qualify for the open water 10k event in Rio.
While Anderson did win silver in her first Olympic appearance in London in 2012, her finish was heartbreakingly close to the gold medal. Anderson finished just four-tenths of a second behind Hungary’s Éva Risztov, narrowly missing the top prize.
Anderson’s sister, Alyssa, also represented Team USA at the London Games, securing a gold medal as part of the United States’ 4x200m freestyle relay.
After just missing out on gold in the open water 10k in London, Anderson will look to finish strong in Rio and bring home the top prize for Team USA.
