New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is still struggling to get on the football field. Currently battling a groin injury, Cruz returned to practice on Sunday but couldn’t finish the session. On Monday, he did work on the sidelines with a trainer, rather than practicing proper with the team.
Victor Cruz still out of practice and remains a poor fantasy option
Cruz hasn’t played in a regular season game since 2014. We break down the fantasy implications.

It’s been a hard road back for Cruz since he tore his patellar tendon in October 2014. He tried coming back last year, but suffered a calf injury that kept him out for the entire season. In Cruz’s last healthy season (2013) he had 73 catches for 998 yards and four touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: Unfortunately, fantasy owners probably can’t count on Cruz making a real impact in 2016. With Odell Beckham Jr. and rookie Sterling Shepard set at the top of the depth chart, Cruz is penciled in for the slot position. But first, he has to get on the field and practice again, and it’s looking like he’ll get few, if any reps in the preseason. Cruz is a high-risk, low-reward WR4 in standard fantasy leagues.
