The Pittsburgh Steelers signed tight end Ladarius Green to a four-year, $20 million contract in the offseason hoping to find their long-term replacement for the retired Heath Miller. Unfortunately, Green’s mysterious injury concerns make his future in Pittsburgh increasingly cloudy.
Ladarius Green’s ongoing injury problems make him a poor fantasy investment
Green is still on the PUP list with significant questions about his long-term health. We break down the fantasy implications.

Green is currently on the PUP list with what the team is calling an ankle injury (he had surgery in January), but Pro Football Talk reported last week that Green is dealing with recurring headaches related to his concussion history, which could force him into retirement.
Head coach Mike Tomlin claimed that Green’s training camp absence is related to his ankle surgery rehab, and on Monday ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that there is still “no clarity” with the situation. The Steelers could try to recoup Green’s $4.75 million signing bonus if he didn’t tell them about the headaches prior to signing.
Fantasy impact: It’s a messy situation all around -- Green could either be ready for Week 1 or released by then, but we just have no way of knowing. With so many uncertain factors, Green is no longer a viable option in fantasy drafts. Owners should look for a safer investment at their tight end position.
