The Chicago Bears may again be without tight end Zach Miller. During Tuesday’s joint practice with the New England Patriots, Miller was seen on the sideline in street clothes.
Zach Miller misses Bears practice, fantasy value dwindling
We look at the fantasy football implications of Zach Miller missing practice time while coming back from a concussion.

This comes after Miller was sidelined for two weeks due to a concussion before returning to practice this past Saturday. That could hint at a possible setback occurring between now and then if Miller isn’t practicing three days later. However, Bears head coach John Fox denied that was the case, saying Miller had a doctor’s appointment Tuesday that caused him to be late and miss practice.
After catching 31 passes for 404 yards and five scores over his final eight games in 2015, Miller is Chicago’s starting tight end entering 2016. He’s also a viable fantasy option, but concussions are a very tricky injury to deal with.
Fantasy Spin: Fox’s excuse for Miller missing practice doesn’t smell right. If there was a setback, Miller could be sidelined for several more weeks.
The fact he was at least at practice suggests that he’s still at a point in his recovery that he can return to full contact soon. Prior to the concussion, Miller was being taken in the latter rounds of fantasy drafts.
Even with this concussion, it’s hard not to take a flyer on Miller towards the end of your draft, but that’s the highest he should go for now. Miller’s history of injuries and being 31 years old already make him a risky commodity.
