So much for the Coby Fleener controversy. After the star tight end had been listed as fourth string on the New Orleans Saints’ most recent depth chart, many began questioning if somehow Fleener was in Sean Payton’s doghouse, if he was struggling to get the new offense down or if he was simply having that bad of a training camp.
Coby Fleener back atop Saints depth chart, fantasy value remains high
We break down the fantasy implications of Coby Fleener being the Saints’ No. 1 tight end after a clerical error had him as a fourth-stringer.

None of those appear to be the case after the Saints quickly put out a new depth chart with Fleener listed as the starting tight end. It was believed to be an error by whoever published the depth chart at the Saints’ website and not by the team itself.
After a productive career with the Indianapolis Colts, Fleener signed a five-year, $36 million contract with the Saints this offseason. That included an $8 million signing bonus that all but guaranteed him of the No. 1 tight end spot in the high-powered Saints offense.
Fantasy Spin: While the Saints do have good depth at tight end with Josh Hill and Michael Hoomanawanui, there is no way Fleener isn’t the top guy barring injury. He is too good of a player to be a backup or fourth-stringer behind Hill or Hoomanawanui.
Fleener has already been getting the bulk of the first-team reps in camp and the preseason. His current ADP has him being the fifth or sixth tight end drafted, which is where he should remain for the time being.
