Jared Goff could start in Week 1 but has little fantasy value as a rookie

However, the Rams may be leaning towards starting Goff after all, at least according to NFL.com’s Sam Wyche. Head coach Jeff Fisher confirmed that Goff will get more work with the first team in the second preseason game. He has a chance to improve his case after an underwhelming preseason debut last week.
Fantasy impact: Despite Fisher’s coyness about the quarterback position, it would be a surprise if Goff isn’t under center in Week 1. Keenum isn’t the answer and the Rams know it.
That said, Goff has a low chance of being a fantasy factor in his rookie year. He doesn’t have the pro-ready polish of previous rookie-year successes like Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson, making him a low-end QB2 option. Goff is a great roster stash in dynasty leagues, but re-draft owners should only consider him if injuries or bye weeks have wrecked their rosters.
