Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen had an MRI on his back that came back negative, according to Charlotte Observer beat writer Joe Person. Olsen had missed the past three practices because of his back, but head coach Ron Rivera described the injury as a “big spasm.” Olsen could miss a few more practices as a precaution, but his status for Week 1 is not considered to be in danger.
Greg Olsen back MRI comes back clean; fantasy owners exhale
Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is still out of practice, but Week 1 status not in jeopardy. We break down the fantasy implications.

Olsen, who has not missed a regular-season game since 2007, caught 77 passes for a career-high 1,104 receiving yards in 2015 with seven touchdowns.
Fantasy spin: Back injuries are never something you want to see associated with such a high-profile fantasy contributor, especially a tight end that takes (and dishes out) a lot of punishment. But with three weeks to go until the season starts, it’s probably a safe bet that Olsen will continue to terrorize opposing defenses without missing a beat. Fire him up as a TE1 with confidence.
