The Buffalo Bills cut ties with promising second-year running back Karlos Williams Saturday afternoon. The Florida State product already was facing a four-game suspension to start the season due to a substance abuse infraction, but there were also reports that he checked into camp 20-25 pounds over weight.
Buffalo Bills shockingly waive running back Karlos Williams, erasing fantasy value
After a rocky offseason that included a four-game suspension for substance abuse, the Buffalo Bills cut second-year running back Karlos Williams Saturday afternoon. We look at the fantasy implications.

According to BuffaloBills.com, Rex Ryan said at the beginning of August that Williams’ roster spot is “safe,” so it is possible another violation led to this release. As a rookie, Williams ran for 517 yards and scored seven touchdowns while adding two more touchdowns through the air.
Fantasy Spin: Mike Gillislee and Reggie Bush will now duke it out for second string reps behind LeSean McCoy. Look for Gillislee to be more of that bruising back they use in short yardage and goal line situations. Bush will be used on more on third down and in change-of-pace situations. Williams could see some fantasy value down the line after his suspension has been served.
