Standing at 6’6, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman has the frame of a prototypical red zone target, but not necessarily the consistent production. After racking up 30 receptions for 454 yards and two touchdowns for his 2015 rookie season, Coleman has been working to get to the next level throughout training camp.
Brandon Coleman highly targeted for Saints but struggling to build on fantasy sleeper potential
Brandon Coleman’s roster position and fantasy potential still remains uncertain despite 10 targets on Saturday.

After being targeted 10 times in Saturday’s Week 2 preseason game against the Houston Texans, Coleman was given every opportunity to stand out to the Saints’ coaching staff. Despite his six-catch performance for 47 yards, head coach Sean Payton said: “I thought it was just okay.“ There is certainly more that needs to be shown from Coleman if he is to secure his spot on the regular season roster. These final two preseason games will be absolutely critical for his place in New Orleans.
Fantasy Potential: His size is definitely something to like for coaches and fantasy owners, but Coleman’s consistency continues to be in question. Expect more opportunities for Coleman for the final two preseason games. If he is able to make an impression, his position on the Saints’ roster should be secured. Fantasy owners should keep Coleman on their radar as a potential sleeper at wide receiver for later this season.
